Time Out

  • By Yong Wei Jian

An explorer’s reward is time spent outdoors. Fresh air, stress relief, energy boost and good ol’ Vitamin D. If those aren’t incentive enough, perhaps these active tickers will encourage you to tread newer grounds.

The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere is synonymous with mountain adventure (twin globes marking out the world’s Seven Summits will do that), and this year it gets even closer to nature with the natural paring of a bronze case and khaki green dial.

The Zenith Pilot Type 20 Adventure sends the clearest signals with oversized numerals made entirely out of Super-LumiNova. Like the 1858 Geosphere, the watch features a bronze case with a grained khaki green dial, strapped with a choice of camouflage alligator leather or khaki matrix leather.

The Tissot T-Touch Swiss Edition marks 20 years of the first tactile watch. Inspired by life on the Jura and Alpine mountains, the watch flaunts a chocolate ceramic bezel as well as a motif from the traditional costume of armailli shepherds on the solar cells. As usual, the interactive “touch screen” system offers a host of adventuring assets like compass and altimeter.
