2017 marks the blossom of a love affair between high fashion and streetwear brands. When Louis Vuitton collaborated with cult streetwear label Supreme, the excitement on social media was palpable. The partnership was swiftly followed by news of skater-inflected label Gosha Rubchinskiy’s upcoming tie-up with British luxury megabrand Burberry. Creating waves in the fashion landscape among millennial consumers, high-end streetwear seems a smart place to be.
To end the year with a bang, Dior Homme has launched a limited edition BMX Bike with Parisian bike company Bogarde. The bike reflects the shape of the cult two-wheeler of the early ’90s, but its exterior has been updated with details drawn from Dior Homme’s codes: the bike has a chromed black and red finish, with a bee design engraved on the handles.
Of course, what is streetwear without an element of exclusivity? The high-end bicycle comes in limited quantity — only 70 to be exact — and will be available upon request in Dubai at the Sole DXB event. So if you are in the market for a bicycle emblazoned a la the House of Dior, better act fast.
