Belgian designer and Creative Director Raf Simons has branched out into the music industry and collaborated with The xx, and well-known British photographer and filmmaker, Alasdair Mclellan on the concept and creative direction for the act’s ‘I Dare You’ music video. As Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein, Simons has had a longstanding appreciation of the band and saw a connection between their videos and his work at the fashion house.
The story of ‘I Dare You’ narrates a love letter to the city of Angels, Los Angeles, shot at the golden hours with the help of Simons’ eye for architectural and atmospheric elements, and casting of talents help create the overall artistic direction of the video.
The band has released the music video featuring actress Millie Bobby Brown, star of ‘Stranger Things’ who also models the Calvin Klein by Appointment campaign, Ashton Sanders, American actor currently featured in Calvin Klein’s Spring 2018 underwear campaign, Paris Jackson, who was Simons’ date at the Met Gala, and models Lulu and Ernesto Cervantes who have appeared in the brand’s campaigns and on Fall 2017 runway.
