A Fresh Flagship: Saint Laurent’s New Toyko Store At Ginza 6

  • By Ian Lee

Tokyo’s first Saint Laurent flagship store, which opened in late 2015 in the Omotesando avenue, was the house’s largest international store. Now, the brand has followed that with the city’s second flagship at the new Ginza 6 – Ginza’s largest ever shopping mall.

The space, like all Saint Laurent stores, is a marvel of design: a modern interpretation of the French modernist movement of the early 20th century. Iconic Art Deco materials echo the house’s characteristic look: floors in white statuarietto marble, walls in white statuary marble, structures in nickel-plated brass and gold-tone showcases. Spanning across three levels, the new flagship store also boasts a backlighted black marble façade – the first of its kind for a Saint Laurent store – of approximately 17 meters composed by 18 panels.

Here, you’ll find products from all the brand’s categories: Anthony Vaccarello‘s prêt-à-porter, accessories, shoes, sunglasses and jewellery for women and men. To celebrate the Ginza 6 opening, a limited-edition capsule collection has been released. This limited collection includes a leather and canvas backpack, patch wallet, and cotton and linen gabardine parka – all designed with a special “SL Love Tokyo” patch. There’s also a T-shirt and leather tag marked with “Saint Laurent, Ginza Tokyo”.
