In the Fall of 2016, Ferrari Far East held #DreamFerrari, an Instagram competition for all Ferraristi to be creative and delve deeper into the heart of design of the brand’s iconic horse marque. The brand has come a long way since the first model was built in the 1940s by Italian carmaker Enzo Ferrari and has since been a market leader in the industry. Monica Hutama emerged amongst the submissions as the winner, and was chosen by a team of judges led by Senior Vice President of Design for Ferrari Flavio Manzoni, after months of deliberation.
Drawing on the concepts of science, beauty, and dreams, the third-year graphic design student, envisioned the experience of driving the California T through the mind’s eye. She described her work as a visual representation of the billions of neurons that fire through the brain as a driver takes the wheel of the Ferrari, and the infinite possibilities it brings. CEO Dieter Knechtel shared that “the creativity that we have seen from the youth in Singapore has surpassed all expectations and is wonderful to be able to see the many ways in which Ferrari continues to inspire.”
