Gucci Epiphany – A Book of Impressions

  • By Men's Folio

Photographer Ari Marcopoulos’ creative career is one steeped in youth subculture and fashion – dedicated to documenting the immediacy and rawness of life itself. This time, he’s lending his talents to Gucci for their limited edition impressionistic photo-book Epiphany. Going for a limited run of 1,000 copies, the book will be launched on May 5 at Dover Street Market in New York, where Marocopoulos will be there to sign copies.

The images featured in Epiphany come from Milan, where pre-fall 2016 collections designed by Alessandro Michele were on show. Marcopoulos documented the collections in photos with the direct and loose feeling that he’s usually known for. The whole book will come inserted in a bubble wrap envelope with a holographic Gucci snake sticker on the front. Every book will have a postcard-sized photo in a transparent pocket on the cover, featuring one of 13 different images. The back cover will have a quote from Alessandro Michele.

Other than the Dover Street Market, where the book will be available restricted for a month, it will later be sold at the Pitti Uomo exhibition in Florence in June, when there will be another signing at the Gucci Museo. One further signing and retail outlet in London is to be confirmed.

The book is priced at $65 and will only be sold at the select stores, and, from July, at the publisher IDEA books’ website.
