British design house Alexander McQueen has commissioned English artist Damien Hirst to create an excess of 30 limited-edition scarves in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the brand’s signature scarf print. Adapting from Hirst’s famous Entomology series, each of the one-off designs will see an abundance of butterflies, bugs, spiders and plenty of other creepy crawlies worked geometrically into the signature shape of the McQueen skull motif.
With an obvious shared aesthetic vision between both McQueen and Hirst, the brand states that their mutual visualization “in which an interest in symmetrical design is combined with strong references to the natural world.”
The Damien Hirst and Alexander McQueen scarves will be available in chiffon, pongé, twill and cashmere, with prices starting from USD480, and going to see the light of day mid-November.
