CAMPAIGN CIRCUIT: The Haunt of Bottega Veneta

  • By Men's Folio

Campaign CircuitBottega Veneta’s creative director Tomas Maier has wisely taken an artistic approach in the way he photographs the label’s campaigns, and this method has been utilized for the past few years alone. The house of Bottega Veneta has seen the likes of Nan Goldin, Nick Knight, Jack Pierson, Peter Lindbergh, Annie Leibovitz and plenty more to bring about a dynamic multi-personality to the clothes and brand. Dubbed the Art of Collaboration, this concept continues this Fall/Winter 2013 season with Maier commissioning New York-based artist Ralph Gibson to lens the haunting collection.

Perhaps best known for his eerie images with erotic undertones, Gibson turned out a poignant series of moody snaps for the Italian fashion house; and with the campaign starring one of menswear’s most recognizable faces Mathias Lauridsen, the images are a testament to just how strong Bottega Veneta has developed itself into a brand that caters towards those with a more sophisticated taste.
