For those who are diehard fans of true (and we emphasize the word TRUE) Italian cuisine, look no further than Da Laura located conveniently at Neil Road. Boasting a menu just humble of two-pages, the dishes they serve promises a fine balance of taste, looks and size (not to mention it’s reasonably priced.)
Named after Laura Forlino (chances are you’ll bump into her when you make a visit), a certified sommelier who has up to 30 years of Food & Beverage experience in both Italy and Singapore, Da Laura (which translates to by Laura in Italian) is Forlino’s first restaurant foray in Singapore, after arriving in 2008 with her family to open Forlino at One Fullerton.
With an air of Italian romance in the décor (decked with furniture pieces directly from her home in Piedmont Italy), Forlino wants you to feel like you’re paying a personal visit to her abode for a nice home-cooked meal.
A hearty and authentic dining experience is what Chef Michele Blasi (up to 22 years of experience under his belt), the Milan-born chef, will be serving, with antipasti, pastas and mains originating from Tuscany, Piedmont, Puglia, Campania, Sicily, Lombardy, Liguria, Calabria and Veneto. The number of ingredients is kept to no more than three or four, so as to bring out the natural and robust flavours of each dish.

The Tropea Red Onion Puff Pastry with Roasted Peppers is another example of the use of traditional Italian ingredients kept to a minimum but presented in the primary colours of red, yellow and green that make the dish look as good as it tastes.
Homemade Tagliatelle with Bolognese Style features hand-chopped meat and not minced meat. The resulting taste is more flavourful because the meat is not stressed.
Cannoncinni, an Italian cream-filled dessert, which is freshly handmade everyday and ends each meal at Da Laura on a sweet note.
