The word “dandy” used to have a certain fey pejorative connotation, but stylish men from Manhattan’s West Village are reclaiming it as a badge of sartorial taste—not all that surprising really, given the enclave’s rep as a watering hole for creative types. In this incisve, sharply edited video, Kai Shaw accosts dudes on the street for their dress sense (right off the bat, we get this lean, lanky gent in a really cool pair of Paul Smith trousers emblazoned with flourescent jellyfish.)
Indeed, if this video is to be believed, the West Village is absolutely teeming with studiously blasé brand whores—have fun spotting your favorite It-bags and ready-to-wear on some of these men! Now, we wonder what we’ll dredge up if we were to scour the streets of say, our very own Holland Village…
