On a day of reflection and somberness—it’s the last day of 2012!—let the hypnotic voice of kohl-eyed siren Penelope Cruz wash over you like the warm waves of the Spanish sea, as the screen icon waxes lyrical about Loewe.
Fashion observers will know that the Oscar winner had previously inked a deal to front the fine leather and fashion brand for three years (“I grew up admiring all the designs: the bags, the clothes, the accessories”, Cruz says in this video) but the first official campaign images will only be revealed later in 2013. Too long a wait for Vanilla Sky fans? For now, hear the 38-year-old actress praise Loewe’s creative director Stuart Vevers as “one of the greatest designers in the world right now” in her lovely Spanish-inflected dulcet tones…and a happy new year to all!
