Giorgio Armani & Sean Penn Put On Strongest Suits for Haitian Relief

  • By Men's Folio

Here are a few good men (well, two), come to bring joyous tidings this holiday season. In the first campaign of its kind, Giorgio Armani and buddy Sean Penn have joined forces to racket up awareness and moolah for the folks in Haiti.

The artfully framed, touchingly intimate portrait of Giorgio and Sean was shot during this year’s Cannes, when the film star approached the Italian fashion maestro to see if he was interested in contributing to the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, an NGO set up by the vociferous activist-slash-actor in 2010 in the aftermath of that year’s earthquake. (Back in May this year, the pair also raised US$2 million for the foundation via a fundraising dinner at the film festival itself.)

Looking very distinguished in sharp Armani tuxedos—we love how the sheen of their satin lapels catches the light in this black-and-white shot—the campaign is a sobering reminder of how the natural disaster continues to affect the displaced families in that ravaged nation.

We’re threading into maudlin territory here, but it warms the cockles of our cold, cold hearts to know that fashion cares, and that we can do our part, too. Head over to Armani’s J/P Haiti section to find out more and to make a donation—and yes, just so you know, we have!
