So many animated vids, so few days till D-day. One of our favourite American designers has jumped on the festive e-campaign bandwagon (or is that bandwidth?) with this fun, trippy ode to all things 3.1.
Spot the new black-and-tan Pashli for Fall 2012? Product placement aside, cymbal-banging toy monkeys and various other borderline-creepy vestiges from childhood are also mixed into this too-cool-for-school holiday virtual greeting card. What really gets to us is the soundtrack, courtesy of Brooklyn-based indie band The Bones of JR Jones—no Mariah Carey or Nat King Cole for the arbiter of contemporary cool.
The best part? Because moolah was saved from the non-printing of cards, the good folks at 3.1 Phillip Lim are funnelling cash into The Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit charity that doles out free music lessons and scholarships to children. If that doesn’t warm the cockles of your heart—and make you reach for that latest 31 Hour Bag—we’re not sure what will. Happy holidays!
