Tony Yang Holds Fort in Tom Ford

The Taiwanese thespian turned heads in his knockout of a tuxe, an immaculately tailored specimen courtesy of the brilliant Tom Ford. For one, the pret-a-porter piece from the always tasteful Tom Ford fit the lanky actor like a dream, with the wide flare of the grosgrain shawl collar lending the already trim man the illusion of an even broader chest and shoulders—always a good thing for a guy, we say.

One of the dressier statement pieces from the influential American designer’s Fall 2012 collection, the “Carlyle” coat straddles that great, grey area between flashy fashion and savvy commercial sensibilities. We adore the evening jacket’s subtle aubergine, almost black, sheen, which on closer inspection reveals itself to be made up of a fine micro-diamond jacquard.

Tony Yang really sold it to us, going the whole black-tie hog by pairing it with a pert black herringbone silk bow-tie and silk cummerbund. Bravo, Tony: for your efforts we’re giving you our vote for best dressed at the Golden Horse Awards!
