Gender Graffiti: Andrej Pejić Mixes Things Up in Jean Paul Gaultier

  • By Men's Folio

You just know things are going to get messy when you put the combustible Jean Paul Gaultier and androgynous android Andrej Pejić in the same room. The French designer decided to mix things up by sending the Bosnian Australian pretty boy down the Fall 2012 womenswear runway in Paris…and this is what you get: an eighties Velvet Underground vibe, complete with neon orange fur shrug and a strangely sumptuous graffiti print splashed across Pejić’s chest. We’re not sure when Andrej Pejić’s glittery bubble will burst, but we’ve got to hand it to the unapolegetically gender-fluid model for making women’s clothes look so effortless. And hey, as they say, variety is the spice of life. We don’t need another David Gandy…or do we?
